2024 Estate Pinot Noir – Pommard Clone
Small Lot Collection – Sta. Rita Hills
267 cases produced
The history of this “old school clone” was brought to the US in the early 1950’s, most likely from the Château de Pommard, in the village of Pommard, just south of Beaune in the heart of Burgundy. It’s one of my (Chad speaking) personal favorite villages in France. Every time I visit, I always go to the Clos des Epeneaux vineyard. The Pommard clone is beautiful, it exhibits perfect size berries, soft skins, loves the cold and moist ocean air, ripens evenly and represents a strong, confident foundation. The flavors are typically dark fruited with lots of Indian spice, and with our winemaking techniques applied, the whole cluster brings more savory, dried herb, ocean minerality with some assertive yet plush tannin structure. Pair with Beef Bourguignon with a drizzle of high-end balsamic.
2023 Estate Pinot Noir – Anna’s Block
Small Lot Collection – Sta. Rita Hills

This wine comes from our tiny 4.1-acre block located on the northernmost section of our west side. The yields have been low and the quality high. Since we live by the yields that Mother Nature provides, this will be the last bottling of this wine for the short term. It may take 3-5 years to rearrange the pruning, fix irrigation, and love on our vines, but who knows what other interesting ideas will pop up in the meantime. This vintage, the red cherry fruit combined with orange peel, mint, and white pepper is what really sets this wine apart from other pinot noirs. It’s bright and fresh, and the ripe flavors are complemented by the 60% whole cluster. Pair with smoked fatty salmon or fennel sausage pasta.
2023 Estate Syrah – Donna’s Block
Small Lot Collection – Sta. Rita Hills
695 cases produced
As always, this wine captures our attention. The vines weather a long growing season in the cold sunshine and deep sand culminating in a mid-November harvest. In the cellar we have clean, native fermentations with all the stems intact and plush skins that release all their color. The wine then rests quietly in barrel on the lees without any additions for 22 months. This wine is unique, to say the least. Intoxicating aromas of blackberry, purple flowers, white pepper, spiced orange tea, and olive tapenade with a generous mouthfeel of fresh acidity and a concentration that follows. The 100% whole cluster provides structure that makes this wine linger for days. Pair this wine with shepherd’s pie or a grilled flank steak.
2018 Estate Syrah – High Density – Monopole Exclusive
Small Lot Collection – Sta. Rita Hills
129 cases produced
This tiny little block was planted in 1998 to all the different clones that represent the rest of the vineyard. The interesting thing about this wine is that it’s planted meter by meter and is harvested all at once. The only wine we ferment with multiple clones together. Aromas of dried plum, white pepper, dark blue fruit with clean leather. The texture is bright, fresh and generous with lots going on. The weight is strong and present with melted tannins that glide the wine down your throat. Pair this wine with a grass-fed burger or a grilled New York steak.
